OVER j>300.000 ANNUALLY ALREADY. The cost to the Dominion of war pensions is. steadily mounting up. Last week 111 new pensions were granted Tβpresentiiis an annual value of .£6366. Up to March 31 last the total annual value of pensions Granted was in round figures, J570.000. From April 1 to dato 18 soldiers pensions have been granted, of an annual value of J:799, avera»in" £U a year. JE3IO. The ternporary soldiers' pensions number 453 • anmml value, average, £75. At the end oi last financial year the average soldiers pension was .£53; the average is now .£75 a-year, as against.a maximum pension of ,B5 a year.
