Christchurch, May 22. The grain market is very quiet, there being very,-little wheat or oats offering. -Any, wheat coming forward is taken at tho Govornmetn price. Oats aro very firm. It is reported that arrangements •are under consideration tD send a grader to Australia to inspect- and pass . the wheaf purchased there before shipment. The potato market is weaker, as the Auckland market is well supplied at.present, and delay in filling orders is being asked for. .Buyers aro mostly offering only M at country stations. There are no other changes to note in the market.
