A SUBSTANTIAL SURPLUS
\ THE DOMINION TREASURY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May 18. The Hon. A. M. Myers stated this evening that the .'Surplus for the past financial year will be a substantial one, but that details are not yet available as accounts have not been finally closed. He states that the delay in announcing the 'returns is.due to the Treasury being understaffed owing to' enlistments of so many members of the staff, and to an unusually largo number of accounts with ■the Imperial Government' in connectionwith the' Expeditionary Porce that require adjustment. -.--
