.MEETING; OF THE COUNCIL: '■ A meeting of the Miramar Borough i jCouncil was held last evening, the Jlayor (Mr. E. Townsend) presiding.' There ;Wero also present: Councillors E. Hawthorn, M. Tracy, J. Pollock, and H. IC. •Kobertsnaw. A letter was received from "the Danne- '? ? Borough Council, calling attention to the increase of/motor traffic in small iboroughs, and . asking , the support of the council for a resolution urging the Government to permit boroughs with populations of less •. than 3000 to register •motor-cars and motor-cycles. At present boroughs and counties with populations exceeding 5000 alone have the privi- . to register.'euch vehicles. " The council decided to ! give its support to the •Dannevirkb Borough's resolution. The Alexandra Borough Council's resolution with respect to adequate provision being made by the Government for flol:diers and; their dependants, which has ibeen considered by several suburban boroughs, was read and received. . The Public Trustee, acting as agent for Mrs. 0. B. M'Grath, applied for ex- [ emption from the operation of the borIVragK by-law in respect to the subdivision of a section. Tho council decided not to acccde to the request.
