SALVATION ARMY WANTS' SIX • O'CLOCK CLOSING.
Tho following resolution was put td the congregations assembled in the Salvation Army halls in 91 centres throughout tho Dominion on Sunday, May 13, and carried unanimously:— "We pray the governing authorities of New Zealand will immediately introduen legislation to stop the sale of all alcoholic liquor in pubhehouses (or hotels) after 6 p.m., and to bring In other forms of restriction that will lead to (v decrease in its consumption. This appeal is made in the interests of national strength, honour, and safety. At a time when all nations are taking drastic measures to-deal with the evil from a standpoint of economy and efficiency to the winning of the war, we regret that our Domiuion to the disappointment of the community as ?. whole."
