The drawing 0 f the seventh ballo. under the Military Service Act was completed yesterday afternoon. More than 8000 names had to bo drawn, but the work, directed by the Government Statistician (Mr. Malcolm Fraser) and supervised bv Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, proceeded quickly and smoothly, rho staff.. worked from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m., with an interval for lunch, on luesday, started again at 9 a.m. yesterday, and drew the last card at 3.30 p.m. The checking of the list'is'now proceeding, and it is expected that the names will ho available for publication, on Tuesday next.
