TRENTHAM SOLDIERS' CLUB
OPENING ON MAY 5. At a meeting of tho Mayor's Committee in connection with the new Soldiers' Club at Trout-ham Camp, it was decided that the club should be opened next Saturday aftornoou (May 5), providing that Sir James Allen (the Act-ing-Prime Minister) could find it convenient to be present on that date. Colonel Potter, Camp Commandant, will preside, and invitations will be issued lor tho military authorities, members of Parliament, City councillors, and all subscribers to be present. A leport was presented to the committee showing that the furnishing contractors wero well forward \vith' their work, and would complete it before the end of next week. A piano has been added to the equipment of the social hall, and the .opening ceremony will be brightened by a brief musical programme. ' The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) who lias been unremitting in his efforts in connection with the club, states that everything is now in ship-shape order, and he is certain that the club will be found to be a valuable adjunct to the camp.
