■WAr' CONFERENCE DELEGATES ENTERTAINED. . umdoiV.'April 25. ■ The Einpiro Press Union entertained the War Conference delegates at luncheon at the Savoy. Lord Burnham presided. There were 100 guests, including Mr." W. H. Long, Mr. Austen Chamberlain, the High Commissioners of the Dominions, British and Indian editors, and pressmen from the' Dominions. . ,• ' ' Lord Burnham urged a better newß service between the United Empires. The cables now were so congested that they could not get through a mere third of the usual quantity. He advocated an All-Red cable. • Sir Robert Borden, Prime Minister of Canada, said a marked step had ibeeu taken in calling together the AVer Conference. • The constitutional, development of the Empire would proceed along thoSwth of equal nationhood. Communication and transportation were vital factors. In order to keep _the .Empire together Canada-would fight until Germany was beaten. Mr. Massey eulogised the Press or. the Southern Hemisphere for its high, tone and fairness. He regretted tho. paucity of Dominion news ui Uritisli newspapers. Better cable communication was required. It should be taken up by the different Governments. Referring to Anzac Day, he hoped: Gallipoli would not bo left to a foreign t0 Sir. James Mestou said tho bringing of the Indian and Dominions' representatives into tho conference had done much towards removing existing misunderstandings. He hoped the suggestions of a Parliamentary visit to India would include tho Dominions delegation, and also Press representatives, and that the visit would-take place before the noxt conference. .
