It should be made quitp clear that the officials of the club got into touch with, the Minister of JtaUways to find that- there would bo" jio difficulty- about carrying the horsee thnt were going north (homeward) from the -Wellington meeting, but when it was learned that it would help the authorities if the meeting were abandoned, the club at once fell in with, the Government s viewe, and steps wero immediately taken to cancel all arrangemente.
