AT ISLAND BAY

Mr. Lockwood occupied the chair Vast evening at St. Hilda's schoolroom, Island Bay, when candidates on the Greater Wellington MunicipalAsßooiationVticket continued their campaign. Sir. Ho dealt with local matters, referring to tlio improvements which had been effected in tho bathing facilities at the Bay. Ho supported thq proposition that tho milk should bo distributed by tho producers at prices to be fixed by. the council. Mr. Jenkinsou dealt with the housing question advocating municipal tenements as a remedy for congestion. , Hβ was satisfied this was the onlv solution to tho housing problem. Ho also enlarged on the town-planning question aud superannuation. On the latterquestion lie thought no restired servant of the corporation should enloy more than x £2oO per annum. After a number of questions, were answered a, vote of .thanks and confidence was carried .on the voices. A. voje of thanks to the chair concluded the proceedings.
