PETROGRAD_ THREATENED GERMANS CONCENTRATING (Rec. April 2d, 10.10 p.m.) Petrograd, April 20. *he General Staff communicates that the Germans are concentrating naval and military forces on tho northern front. Numerous transports have been assembled at Baltic ports, and' a portion of tho German fleet left Kiel for Danzig, from whence it proceeded to Libau. It is opined that the Germans are contemplating a descent on tho rear of _ the Russian right flank, in the neighbourhood of the Gulf of Finland, thus threatening Petrograd.—Reuter. A SEPARATE PEACE . NO HOPE OF RUSSIA YIELDING Washington, April 19, Mr. David Francis, American Ambassador at Petrograd, reports that there is no possibility of Russia yielding to the Austro-German overtures for separate peace. ' M. Miliukoff, Minister for Foreign Affairs, has informed Francej that the Russian Socialists do not want peace, but are anxious to promote revolutionary movements in the Central Powers. '-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. RUSSIA WILL KEEP FAITH MINISTERIAL ASSURANCE (Rec. April 20, 10.25 p.m.) Petrograd, April 20. M. Miliukoff, addressing the Entente Labour deputation, said Russia was still faithful to her undertakings. She had absolute faith in her Allies and t'he triuniph of their cause, and was determined to shatter the obstacles preventing the exertion -of her full strength.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
