The Gladstone branch of the Farmers' Union has framed the following remits for the Provincial Conference:—"That the fanners request the Government to put on an export tax, in. place of the excess profits tax." "To ensure wheatgrowing, the Government be requested to import agricultural motors and sell them at cost to men. willing to take on contract ploughing, returned soldiers for preference." ' ,
