The present Petone Borough Courcil held its last meeting yesterday oraiing. Present: The Mayor (Mr. J. "W. M'Ewan) and Councillors Forsytli, Gaynor. Cox, Brocklebank, Anderson, M'Dougall, M'Kenzie, and Jones. ,• Tho Carterton Borough Council wrote 1 thanking tho council for the courtesy extended while inspecting Petone's sewerage system'. The Petone West School wrote thanking the council for the loan of 100 books for the school library. I It was decided'that an -application I for a license, for tho social hall in the Grand Theatre Buildings would be granted if the outer doors were made to open outwards. One caso of diphtheria in the borough was reported. . . It was reported that the ■ AluwMipal Bowling Club had promised to assist the council in the erection of a pavilion . - The new bus service, it was slated, is expected to commence about tho end of the present month. ,
