WAR RELIEF.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the executive of the •Wellington War Relief Association was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. Lewis presided. • , , ~, The Relief Committee reported that since the last meeting of the executivo it had met on "tea occasions, aim had dealt with 247 applications. Circulars to the number of 5924 had lecently been posted to persons likely to become members, and within the last few days no fewer than twenty-three life members and twenty-three annual members had been enrolled. - life members were: Messrs. 0. It. Smit'li, R. M. Simpson, Robt. G. V. Parker, W. M. Hannay, Geo. Pine, A. J. George, W. R. Doughty, .F. K. Kelling, David Anderson, L. R. Partridge, -W. J. Bridson, W. Qmn, J. Kennie, J. Salmond, W. Calender, W. 'Brown, C. Smith, T. P. Mills, J. Duncan, H. N. Jas. Murphy, L, Blundell, and Archbishop O'Shea. , The Women's National Reserve had completed the lists of the dependants of soldiers up to the 20th Reinforcements, and had arrar.sed the information in card' form. This work enabled the association to circularise the dependants regarding the functions of the association. It had been decided to recommend to the executive that. Mr. .J. W. M'Ewan, Mayor of Petone, be appointed an advisory member of the- Belief Committee, and be asked to attend the. Relief Committee meetings. Mr. M'Ewan was duly elected. _ The report of the Finance Committee showed that the total funds as at March 31 were £78,556 10s. 3d., wade up as follows — x.'8,000; current accounts, £547 ii>s> "8tl.; and ■petty cash, £9 5s-
