A most successful concert, organised by Miss Ida Green, took place at Victoria Military Ward on Thursday night, and gave much pleasure to the soldiers in hospital there. Some delightful trios for violin,.'.cello, and piano were played by the Misses Elsie and Jean Turner, and Mr. Norman Watson. Miss Nellio Castle sang "Mate o' Mine" and "The Home.Bells Are Ringing" ; Miss Zelma . Hugo sang "My Ship's" . and "You Are My Darling" ; and Mr. Arthur Wilson contributed the songs "Plymouth Hoe" and "Land of the Long Ago." '. Other pleasing items were given by the Misses Myrtle Jennings, Christine Dibley, Marion Newman, and Mr. Walter Wood. The performer* were .entertained &* snpper by the matron and nurses, and a very happy evening terminated with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" 'and tho National Anthem.

A baby show; at which nearly a score of infants wore exhibited, was held in Woodvillo recently. The principal prizes were won by Mrs. J. Bolton's and Mrs k Mules' babies. The "Examiner" says:—"Mrs. 0. Johnson and Mrs. R. Parker came pvor from Pahiatua specially to act as judges, veTy generously making their expenses a donation to the bazaar funds. / These la-dies'-'Tiad no easy, task in judging tho babies, but their verdict was received with complete satisfaction, and their services to the bazaar were greatly appreciated. .

The wedding took place at, St. Auceuetine's Church, Napier,'last week of Miss Mollv Ward, second daughter of Mr. W- Ward, of Awatoto.. and Mr. Arthur H. Roomson, • son of Mr. and Mrs. H:-Robinson, of Napier. The Rev. Mr. Rico performed the ceremony. Previous to his marriage Mr. Robinson wa* presented by the principals and staff-of the firm of Messrs. The Red Cross workers at tho Church Depot have sent an Easter gift of different kinds of food delicacies to the soldiers at Hanraer, including a 'huge cake—the lower tier almost of cart-wheel dimensions— elaborately iced and decorated, and hearing an appropriate Easter Greeting, states the "Siin," a. Red Cross outlined with "silver"' heads, occupied the top, and wreaths of pink and white roses'nestled round the base. A similar gift was sent to tho soldiers'. ward at the Cliristclnirch hospital.

Mrs. H. Nathan is visiting her parents, Mr..and Mrs. C. Louisson, Christchurch.

On Saturday last the Lady Liverpool Committee-at'Ensthourno raffled a pony, tho gift of Mr. Chas. Russell, for patriotic purposes. The handsome sum of £65 was realised. Mrs. Pace organised the art union, and was solely responsible for its success. ~\
