MACIIINERY

London, March 27. A' meetiug of members of the fiouse of Lords and th& House of Commons supporting tho principle of Imperial preference resolved, in view of the resolutions of the Paris Economic Conference in Juno, 1916, and of the fact that Lord Balfour of Burleigh's committee roported in favour of the adoption of a policy of proferonce and commercial troatiee with tho Allies, to request the Government to submit the Paris resolutions and Lord Balfour of Burleigh's committee's report to tho Imperial War Cabinet; and tho conferenco further requests the Government forthwith to seb up machinery'to giro effect to the resolutions and carry out a policy of Imperial preference, in accordance with Mr. Asquith's announcement to Parliament in February, 1916, that it was not intended to wait for peace to give effect to the Paris resolu-tions.—Aus.-N.Z.
