C.J.O. SUGGEST 'K CONFERENCE.

Chrlstohuroh, March 27.. The Canterbury Jockey Club has had the question of racing in war time under consideration for some time past, and has written to "other clubs soliciting their views on. the subject. To-day a special meeting of the committee of the club passed tho-following resolution: "That the prolongation of the war and the serious situation sf. tho Empire is causing a strong and grow l ine feeling among, sportsmen and others that early consideration of the racing question is advisable. The oommittee of the C.J.C. are strongly of opinion that racing authorities should approach, tho Government with reference to any possible adjustmejii of raoinc matters. With this end in view the committee of the C. J.O. urge the president of the Racing Conference to immediately call a conference together to discuss the situation."
