LONDON" WOOL SALES. . i London, March 217 was a, miscellaneous oatalogu© at the wool sales. The opening prices- "were gy. maintained for good lines. Port Phillip greasy merinos reached record prices. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London'office, under date Ma-rch 20: "Tho wool sales have opened, and the attendance and competition is good. A good , selection of merinos was offered, and, as compared with the close of last Bales, prices are unchanced. There -wore- not any crossbreds offered." The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cabled . reoorfc from their London office:—"Wool sales opened; greasy merinos fully firm; scoured slightly dearer; no crossbreds offered." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.. -have received the following cablegram from their London house under data March 20:—"Wool sales opened. At the Waihi mine for the period ended March 10, 13,358 tons of ore were crushed for a return of £24,137, as compared with a return, of £26,147 from 15,993 tons last year. The decrease was due to a stoppage at the mills.
