MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., presided over a sitting of tho Magistrate's Court on Saturday. Margaret Williams was convicted or loitering in Taranaki Street for an immoral purpose, and was sentenced to n month's imprisonment. For insobriety, Alfred Parker was fined 205., with the. alternative of spending threo days in gaol. John Edward Jones was convicted of obstructing a policeman and damaging the latter's helmet. For the first offence, ho was fined _ £3, with the alternative, of a fortnight's imprisonment. For the second, ho wa;l ordered to pay lis. 6d. to make good tho damage.
