FIRE AT TAURANGA

By Telegraph—Press ■ As=odfctilin. Tauranga, March 17. A fire occurred at three o'clock this morning in a block of buildings on the Strand, owned by J. W. _ Hardley, Auckland. It commenced in. a shop occupied by H. H. England and Co., seed merchants, and spread to the adjoining shop of J. Ricketts, draper. England's was practically a total loss, and Rickotts's was badly damaged by fire and water. Tho insurances on tho buildings were: England's, V 350; Ricketts's, £400, both in the Queensland office. England's stock was insured for £400 in tho United, and Ricketts's for £1000 in the Guardian.
