YACHTING NOTES
(By "Gib.") The AVaircrc 1 has arrived back from the Sounds, after a fortnight's cruise.. She experienced rough weather in Cook Strait, and had to cut away her dinghy. The Galatea has arrived back from tho Sounds. She was lucky in experiencing fair weather throughout Uio cruise. A general handicap ladies' raco was held by tho P.N.Y.C. on Saturday last. Six boats competed, as follows:—Rona, Viola, AVairore 11, lolanthe, Venus, and Rawene. Tho race was sailed round the chili's usual course, and resulted in a win for the Rona (sailed by Mrs. Pethciick). The other boats finished as follows: Viola (Miss M'Lean), AVaircro. II (Mrs. Cook), Venus (Miss Pembcrton), Rawcnc (Miss Kicrnan). and lolanthe (Mrs. G. M'Lcan). Tho lady skippers showed considerable skill in handling their respective craft.
