SIGNAL SCHOOL
NEW STORE AT FEATHERSTON.
A new store to be used as a school of signalling is nearing complotion at Featherston camp. It will be used by tho Divisional Signallers under Sergt.Major Baker, and will replace the present store, which suffers from a numbor of disadvantages, among them being the fact that the camp bootmakers are hammering all day long in the adjoining storo. In the new.building thero is a large room which will be used as a mechanic's shop and lecture hall. Along one wall aro the desks for tho instruments, arranged so that each operator is shut off from his neighbours by a low , partition. It is considered that this will enable him to concentrate moro closely upon his work. Officers and orderly rooms adjoin, while outside is a, wagon shed and bicycle shelters. On tho roof of the building a wireless mast is being orected!. The work and training of tno Divisional Signallers is recognisod as 'being most important, and the new quarters provided will further increase the ■ efficiency of the various.drafts which pass through the sohool.
