ELECTION OF OFFICERS. At the annual coni'erenco of the Newspaper proprietors yesterday, officers for the ensuing year were re-elect-ed as follow:—President, Mr. P. Selig; vice-president, Mr. V. E. Hyman; executive committee, Messre. H. Horton, L. Blundell, F. Pirani, G. Fonwick, B A. Jones; awards committee, Messrs. F. E. Hyman, F. Pirani, P. Selig, P. Bond, W. C. Weaton; secretary and treasurer. Mr. L. J. Berry; hon. auditor, Mr. ft. Bell.
A motion of sympathy with relatives of the la to Mr. W. J. Grant, of Woodvilin "Kxaminor," was passed. The Revs. Dawson and Williams, representing the Now Zealand Alliance, attended as a,deputation and spoke on certeiu patriotic aad national aspects of the tewpwnnca question and pross pablwit-y in relntion thereto. The eJit'.inna'n thanked the deputation for their attendance, and stated that the matters spoken of would receive the consideration of members.
