KARORI CLUB'S REPORT. Tlje annual report of tho Karori Golf Club states that since the last annual meeting in 1916 a new ninehole courso lifts been laid out and the golf house removed from tho old to the new links. The committee) experienced many difficulties in laying out the links to their satisfaction, chiefly owing to lack of funds. The club's thanks are due to tho hard-working members who so generously gave their services during last February ant)., March by clearing gorso and generally assisting to make tho course presentable for play on opening day. The incoming committee should be able to make considerable improvement to the links during 1017 owing to tho absence of further preliminary expenses, as such may now bo considered practically complete. The committee have secured five_ years' lease of tho links witli the option of renewal. The committee highly commends the work of the secretary (Mr. H. J. Stott), who has guided the destinies of the club during the first year on the new links ; and the ■ treasurer .(Mr. Sievers). Miss HSckey's good work as ladies' secretary is much appreciated. Tho results of matches played with other clubs is not much to the credit of Karori, but with improved links we trust the coming season will give opr.players the chance of more than holding their own against oil opponents. Twenty-two new members were elected during the year, and there wero 22 resignations, tjie latbeing inclusive of members now on activo_ service and old members who have joined other clubs. The club championship was won by Mr. D. A. M'Lennan, tho gold medal being donated by Mr. L. George. The junior championship was won by Mr. M'Kcnzio, tho gold medal being donated byi. by Mr. M'Lennan. The ladies' championship was again won by Miss, Shearer, the trophy bein{j donated by Mrs. Hamilton, and the junior ladies 1 .; championship was won by Mrs. Hawson, the trophy being presented by.' Mr. L. George. Tho thanks of the. club are due to Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Hawson, Mrs. Field, Miss Shearer, and-, Mr. D. M. Wright, who kindly don-, ated trophies for ladies' competitions. During tho year a working party was, formed in aid of the Red Cross Funds, Mrs. Henry kindly lending her Bouse for the weekly meetings. The result of the lady members' efforts was that a largo quantity of bandages and pyjamas have been handed over to the Red Cross Committee, the .necessaryfunds for materials being subscribed by members of tho club. 1
