AMAZING AUSTRALIAN FIGURES. Molboiirna, February 24. Mr. Hughes informed a deputation from the Australian Protectionist Association that ho believed the time had arrived to restrict the importation luxuries. He could not se© the justifir cation for the importation of £1,500,000 worth of silks in' six months, also the importation of over £2,000,000 worth of motor-cars and accessories during the last six months. Tho Government would consider immediately the prohibition of tb© importation of luxuries. —Press Assn.
