COAL MINERS' DISPUTE

STILL NO SETTLEMENT. After sitting until 2 p.m. on Saturday in an endeavour to reaoli finality,' tbe conference of coal-miners and mineownere'representatives, which has'been sitting in Wellington since Wednesday, adjourned until Monday. No settlement or partial settlement has yet been reacted. It was hoped that something final would he done on Saturday, and the fact that the meeting sat through the luncheon hour until 2 p.m. would seem to indicate that the chances of coming to some definite point of agreement, or disagreement were re-garded-as not remote.
