Before the No. 2 Canterbury Military Service Board to-day Archibald Henry Anthony, solicitor, of Christchurch, asked for three months' extension of time from the date of his being passed as medically fit, in order to enable him to close up his business and make financial and other arrangements in connection .with his private property.

' Appellant: Four. .1 propose to close my accounts and retire from the trust. The chairman: What time do you want? Appellant: Three months from February 14, the date I: was passed. The chairman: You did not anticipate being passed l ? Appellant: I did not. ■ Captain Spratt mentiored the case of a solicitor in Taranaki who, when, war broke out, fixed up his trusts in five days in order to join the Main Expeditionary Force. The chairman: Yes, but Anthony is not a Colonel Malone. We wish to view the matter quite sympathetically, hut under the circumstances you can only have until April 80. . ;■
