WOMEN AND CHILDREN
CONFERENCE ENDS.
The conference of the Royal New Zealand Society for .the Health of Women and Children was concluded yesterday. Mrs. Algar Williams (Wellington) presided. On the motion of the president, the following remit from the_ Clutha and Bruce ■. branch was received: —"That while this branch appreciates the interest taken by the hon. the Minister of Health in the scheme for reorganising the society, it answers "that the now rules proposed by the society be carried out in their entirety." The following donations to the Karitane Endowment Fund were promised: —Wellington, £25; Christchurch, £25; Invercargill, £100. Auckland, Taihape, and Tirnaru, and others also promised to help. 1 Officers were elected as follow: —General presidents, Dr. and Mrs.' Truby King; president, Mrs. Carr; vice-presi-dents, Lady Allen'and the president of the Wellington Branch ;• treasurer, Mrs. Theomen; secretary, Miss Glendenning; committee, Mrs. Bloomfield (Auckland), Mesdames Morton (Christchurch), R. W.'Gibbes, M'Gregbr',.J. A. Johnston, W T . A. Moore, J. C. M'Gregor, Pearce '(Invercargill), and Elworthy (Tirnaru).
