February 23. Exceptionally high prices were ltjiised at the Masterton ram fair for stud and flock Bomueys and Lincoln rams. A record for Southdowns was obtained by Mr. Geo. Gardiner Medbury, Riccarton, a line of 150 shearlings averaging JUS! 10s. I " , TAIHAPE SHOW. j ' It is reported that record entries bavo | ■been received for the Taihape show, which is to be held on Wednesday »exS, j February 88. Given fine weather this show, which is the sixth which the association will have held, is expected i to be the finest exhibition of stock of I every description ever held in the dis- I trict. Excursion fares are availablo to Taihape from stations between Marton and Taumarnnui. The Main Trunk ram fair will be held on the following i day at the Taihape yards, and judging i from'the (locks from which the entries ! nave been received, this promises to bo j the most successful fair yet held at ! Taihape. YOU WANT TO CLEAR YOUR j , STUMPS? , j Nearly every farmer realises that every ' stump in his paddocks is costing, him money. There's loss in carrying capacity, "there's loss of , time and labour, and, in addition, harness and shares are always being damaged.
