COLLEGE GOVERNORS

MONTHLY MEETING. The Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, M.L.C. (chairman), Messrs. W. Allan, A. Warburton, J. P. Luke, W. H. Field,'M.P., and W. H. P. Barber attended the meeting of the Board of Gov.erWs of the Wellington. Boys' and Girls' Colleges, held yesterday morning. The statement of accounts showed a brought forward credit of £2513 18s. lid. Payments were as follow: —Wellington College, £621 Bs. 7d.; Girls' College, £523 Bs. lid., leaving a credit of £1368 lis. sd. The foes outstanding were:—Wellington College, £1638 145.; Girls' College, £2489 17s. 5d.-a total of £4128 lis. sd. Rents outstanding totalled £77 16s. 6d. AVith these considerations tho balance to credit was at date £5571 19s. 4d.' With regard to examinations, it was reported that tho' following results had been achieved last year in the Girls' College:—Uniycrsitv National Scholarships, 2; passed U.N.S. with credit, 4; National Scholarships, 25 (15 with credit and one, Miss Dora Powley, passed second highest in the Dominion) ; Senior National Scholarships, _4; Junior National Scholarships, 6; Senior Free Places, 51; Proficiency Certificates, 10; Junior Free Places, 29. Sir .1.
