RABBITS FOR EXPORT

TO BE REQUISITIONED BY THE

GOVERNMENT.

The Minister in Charge of the Imperial Supplies Department (the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald) announced yesterday that the Government intends to! requisition rabbits for export to Great; 'Britain.' ' '

"The Government has gone into the matter of requisitioning frozen rabbits," said Mr. MacDouald, "and after, full consideration, and a conference with representatives of tho rabbit export trade, has cabled to the Imperial aiithorities a proposal that in addition to frozen rabbits tho Government should also requisition canned rabbits and rabbit skins. This will enable rabbits to bo obtained for the Imperial Government at a reasonablo price, and still allow tho business' to be carried out on a thoroughly payablo basis in Now Zealand."
