LANCASTER PARK
TO BE PLANTED IN POTATOES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Chrlstchurch, February 20. The executive of the _ Canterbury, Rugby Union had before it to-night a. proposal from the Board of Control of Lancaster Park to plough up and sow the whole ground (including tho playing oval) in potatoes. The revenue of tho park does not meet the expenditure, and the sport"' bodies are faced with, the loss of the ground. The proposal which is a last effort to save the Park for the sports' bodies, though it wi'l cause inconvenience for two seasons, was agreed to.
