MEAT WORKERS' AMALGAMATION

Mr. F. Ellis, secretary of the Freezing Workers' Federation, has (says a Christchurch paper) circularised all unions connected with or allied to the freezing works industry, inviting tliem to attend a conference to be held in Wellington- on March 27. The conference will receive the report of the Australian organiser, Mr. Ogden, and will discuss the amalgamation of existing unions in eaclM industrial district into ono union, draft a constitution, and elect officers. The basis of representation will be one slaughterman, one freezing worker, and ono fellmonger from each district.
