THE AURORA
TO BE OPENED FOR INSPECTION, Sir Ernest Shaeldoton's exploring ship, the Aurora,,will be open for public inspection to-morrow and on Sunday, from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. on each: day. A small charge will be made for admission to the ship, the proceeds being added to a.fund that :s being Taised for the wife and children of the late Captain A. E. Mackintosh, who lost his life in the Antarctic. T icy ship is lying on the -north side of theferry wharf, within easy reach of the general public. Tn addition to the shin herself there, will be on exhibition sledges, tents and nolar equipment, in illustration of the life led bv the explorers during their lone stuv'in the south. One of the s!ed«os has been presented to the city of Wellington by Sir Ernest Shacdet,on It belonged originally to the lato Captain Scott, and has 2000 miles of Antarctic travel to its credit. They travelled over 160" miles in the summer of 1915-16. arid their pluck and endurance saved the lives of Captain Mackintosh's P»rty.'
