A French official communique from the Macedonian front states: "Following a violent bombardment on February 12, important German forces attacked Hill 1050, oast of Parolovo, and gained :i foothold- at different points of tlio first lino trenches. After a bitter struggle by the greatest part of these were recaptured by Italian coun-ter-attacks on February 13. THE BETRAYER OF RUMANIA GENERAL SOCEOU A NATURALISED GERMAN. (Rcc. February 15, 5.5 p.m.) Bucharest, Fobrua.-y 14. It has been discovered that General Socecu, who, as commander of 'no of the Rumanian armies, betrayed the Rumanian cause by wilfully ignoring orders to advance, was a naturalised German. —Aus.-N.Z.
