MIRAMAR GOLF CLUB

ANNUAL REPORT. \ The annual report of the Miramar Golf Club lor tho year ended January 31, 1917, states: "During tho year many members havo enlisted lor active service, and there have been two deaths, Mr. l< , . B. Spilsbury, who was killed in action in October last, and' Mr. N. A. Robieson, who died of wounds. Seventy members are serving, with the forces, or are now in camp. There are threo ladies of the club serving with the Red Cross, Br. Agnes Beniiett and Misses K. Doughty and K. Gray.

"The club championship was won hy H. 11. Balueavis, and the ladies' championship by Miss M. Wheeler. Entrance fees from competitions wero given to various patriotic funds, and tho Ladies' Club has' done excellent work in providing money for* these funds. "The income and expenditure ' accouut for the year shows a loss of £191 11s. lid., after making full allowance for depreciation of buildings, furniture, and plant; £1000 was charged against expenditure for "interest and sinking fund," and £240 of this sum was used for'the repayment of debentures, so that the club has really improved its position by £4S Bs. l<l. ' Members were asked to contribute to a fund to make up tlio loss of revenue due to the war, and subscriptions'were received amounting to £120 9s. 6d. "Tho liability to the vendors shows at £510 less tlian at January 31, 1916, and since the date of tho balance-sheet a further sum of £255 has been paid off the debt. Debenture nionev received to date amounts. to £(5071, of whioli £2-10 was repaid during the year, lpuvinsr a balance of £4R31. Tim surplus nf assets over liabilities shows at £386 19s. .Id...and there is also a surplus of assets in tho r.inkin;* fund, ncoonnt of £344 13s. 104.
