By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' Christchurch, February 1-1. The board of the Now Zealand' Trotting-. Association met to-day, when tho appeal of W. I'i. Siincs, against a fino o£ .£lO, which was imposed on him l>y tlio l'orbury Park Clul> lor being on tho track without a permit during the running of a race, was heard. Appellant contended that the imjuiry was not conducted according to the rules of 11m association, and alleged that the hearing was not an impartial oiie. 'Hie iino was reduced to 10s. and tho appeal deposit of .£lO refunded. It was decided lo inform V. Ciiesen that if ho unreservedly withdrew and apologised for a letter which had been sent by him to the board, it would consider the request to hear him in support of an application for a license. The life disqualificaton mposed on W. W Gates in 1896 by tho Wellington Trotting Club was .removed; It was decided to ask the owner oi Karvrie and Beckom to show cause why 'he should not be dealt with for nominating an unregistered horse, and for .not rexistoriiur the horses iianied.
