The annual report of tho PostniasterCloiicral's Department, shows tliat the Post Office, during the past financial year, niado a, profit of £"207,901, compared with ;i deficit of £141,653. the previous vear. This does not include interest. Allowing for this, there was a net loss of £315,990, compared with £629 732 tho previous year. The earning 'of the Department totalled £5.049,569, an increase of £429,507. By the standardisation of certain supplies, and other economies, a larga further decreaso in the expenditure ia anticipated.—Press Association.
