APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS The following appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand Forces have been, approved:— Staff. Captain G. F. Hutton, D.5.0., Royal Welsh Fusiliers, is appointed musketry instructor ([temporarily) for tho Canterbury Military District, with the temporary rank of major. N.Z. IjJnginecrs (Post and Telegraph. ! Corps). Sergeant-Major E. J. ■ Smith (vice Captain Beamish, on active service) and Sergeaiit-Major It. S. James (vice Captain White, on active service) to be temporary 2nd lieutenants. Medical Corps. Captain (temporary major) Garnet Wilson .Harty is appointed a consulting ophthalmic* surgeon to the Expeditionary Force. T. G. Harpur to he captain. S. L. Serpell to bo captain (temporarily) while- doing duty with tho Expeditionary Force.
