FARMERS AND "THE CALL"
COUNTY. COUNCIL RESOLUTION.

Auckland, February 13. The Manakau County Council to-day endorsed the resolutions passed by the Franklin County Council "to the otiect that whilst farmers as a class aro as anxious as any other section to see a, victorious peace, the council is of opinion'that the farming community is belli; unduly depleted as compared with other sections; further, that the present- indiscriminate depletion of ablebodied men of the farming class .will shortly result in a serious sliortageof produce for export and will greatly increase the case of' living.
