THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunodin, February 7. The Hon. W. 1). S. Mac Donald stated to-night that arrangements wore being completed for taking over all hides for export. Tannors and others requiring hides for use in the Dominion would be [ allowed to secure supplies in tlie ordinary way. The prices fixed for export were Is. Id. for best grade; 451b. and over; sec'ond grade, Is.; best cow hides, Is.; second grade, Is.; best cow hides,ls.; second grade, Hid. Experts had been appointed by the Government to grade the hides, and an expert would be appointed by the Imperial Government to pass the hides before t they were shipped. Regulations governing the purchase would shortly be gazetted- Sheepskins had been commandeered, nnd arrangements on behalf of the Imperial Government were in hand for the purchase of all frozen rabbits. Details covering the purchase of rabbits were being prepared. — : 0
