ANTI-SHOUTING CASES

At the Magistrate's Court to-day, George Phillips was charged under tho Anti-shouting Regulations with purchasing liquor on the licensed premises of the Commercial Hotel, and inviting one Harold Jarvis to consume that liquor. Charles Gardner, tho barman, was charged with selling intoxicating liquor to Phillips, knowing that it was for consumption by Jarvis. Thomas Childs, the licensee, was charged with permitting shouting on his premises. Defendants pleaded "not guilty." Phillips, Jarvis, and the barman wero each lined £5 and costs, and the case against Childs was dismissed, as ho was away from Pahi\ersC\)H,when the offence- was committed. William Hodgson was charged ivith shouting for Marther Kelly at tho Imperial Hotel, and liortie liasil Raynos, tho licensee, was charged with permitting the shouting to take place, defendants pleaded "not guilty." Tho licensee was lined £20, and Hodgson and Kelly £5 each.
