ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
0 DRAGGED BY A! HORSE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Ashburton, February 5. William Harry Mayson, ajjod fourteen, was grazing a horse in Albert Street yesterday afternoon, with the reins tied round his waist, when the horse was startled by a motor-car. The boy was dragged half a milo, and died shortly after being taken home. ■ A motor-cycle accident occurred yesterday morning, by which Miss Nina Gray suffered a fracture of tho right leg, necessitating her removal to the Hospital. Miss Gray was riding on the carrier of a motor-cyolo ridden by Mr. Leslie Jeffs. Tho cyclist was proceeding up Molesworth Street, and had to pass a vehicle that was standing just near the tramloop opposite Pipitea Street. At the same timo a tram was coming down Molesworth Street, and Joffs, thinking tho car was going to stop on tlie loop, endeavoured to swerve past tho standing vehicle, with tho result that the step of the tramcar struck Miss Gray's leg r.nd fractured it. Dr. Herbert was called to tho scone of tho accident.
