DISAFFECTED ALIENS.
PROVISION FOR ARREST'AND DETEtYIION. , ■ A War Regulation gazetted last night contains the following clause giving the Government power to arrest and detain disaffected aliens. {It sliould be noted that the aliens need not- be enemy aliens):— ■ ' < "A military authority, if satisfied that any alien is disaffected »>r is of such ii character that his liberty source of public danger, may order the arrest of that alien and Jiis detention in such place as the military authority thinks fit, and during his pleasure unless discharged by the Minister of Defence, and such alien may be arrested and detained accordingly in pursuance of.the tenor of such order.
