FIRE AT PONGAROA
6 BOARDINGHOUSE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, January 30.' Brenton's boardinghouse at Pongaroa, a building of 25 rooms, was destroyed by fire shortly after midnight.. The fire is ■ believed to have originated in the kitchen. There were a good number of boarders in the house, but the proprietress was absent in. Pahiatua. The insurances, including that on tbe billiard-room, which was saved, total £575. The loss will be a heavy one.
