EARTHQUAKE IN JAVA
MUCH DAMAGE REPORTED. (Rec. January 26, 7.15 p.m.) Amsterdam, January 25. ■' A serious earthquake was felt, in the island of Bale in Java. Fifty natives ivere killed, 200 injured, and thousands of houses, factories, and temples destroyed. The Governor's palace was damaged.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
