LEASED OUT BY THE COUNCIL. After a somewhat stormy career the Municipal Fish Market in jervois Quay has been allowed to pass out of tho hands of the City Council, much to the relief of those members of the council who have Gouglib to justify its existence. At last evening's meeting of tho City Council the Public Health Com-' mittce reported that they had accepted an offer from Messrs. Sargent and Weaver to rent tho premises known as tho Municipal Fish Market for a period of six months, from January 2, 1917, at a rental of £1 os. per week, with the use of certain fittings, subject to tho prices charged for fish being limited to the following:—Gropor, 4d. per lb.; tcrakihi, 3d. nor lb.; moki. 3d. per lb.; schnapper, 3d. nor Ib.j.fiat fish, Bd. per lb.; oysters, sd. per dozen. The recommendation was approved.
