COOLER WEATHER
A rise in the barometer on Wednesday alight brought cooler conditions in the city, though the back country still reports very hot weather. From moderate to strong southerlies lave prevailed generally, with a scattered rainfall. Tlio indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, with southeasterlies predominating elsewhere. The barometer is at present unsteady.
