DISTRESS IN BELGIUM
LARGE SUM REQUIRED FOR RELIEF. Naw Yorki January 22. Mr. H. 0. Hoover (chairman of the Belgian Relief Commission) has arrived. He says he requires forty million pounds for Belgian relief. The condition of Belgium is the worst since tiro beginning of the war. Business has been suspended in Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, and Ghent, —Reuter.
