A NOTE WITH A TIME LIMIT
LOCATION OF PRISONERS (Rec. January 22, 6.15 p.m.) . Amsterdam, January 21. A Berlin official Note with a time limit was recently sent to France, complaining that German war prisoners were being quartered in the fire zone, and requesting their withdrawal to at east nineteen miles behind the firf Imp, otherwise similar reprisals would be applied. Subsequently it was stated that m consequent of the French ignoring the complaint several thousand ronoh prisoners wero being similar!? treated.—Reuter. • . „ . Paris, January 21. A semi-official Note states that the French accepted the proposal before tbe official Note had been issued. Evidence existed that the Germans had prepared to carry out the threatened reprisals prior to transmitting the first complaint.—Reuter.
